CSI stands for Color-Symbol-Image and can help your child strenthen learning comprehension as well as their critical thinking skills.
When reading a story at home, ask your child questions such as:
What color comes to mind when you read this?
What symbol would represent the main idea of this story?
What image stuck out at you?
After each question, be sure to ask your child:
What makes you say that?
This step is important because it allows you to understand more about what your child is thinking while also inviting them to push their thinking even deeper.
