Just across 16th Street, NW, at 3211 Sacred Heart Way, NW, and a short walk from our school, you will find the Shrine of the Sacred Heart / Santuario del Sagrado Corazón, the mother church of our school.
The parish was established in 1899 in the Mount Pleasant neighborhood of Washington D.C. The church is administered by priests of the Franciscan Capuchin Order. The current pastor is Father Moisés Villalta, OFM Cap. Father Villalta is the first Salvadoran-American pastor in the history of the Archdiocese of Washington.
The Shrine of the Sacred Heart plays an important role in the daily life of our school, as the parish is strong supporters of the school, and Father Moisés is known by all of our children.
