For over 50 years, Pack 98 Cub Scouts in Washington, DC's Brookland neighborhood have been having the time of their lives making new friends and learning new things in an environment designed to help them succeed.
From building his own pinewood derby car to learning how to roast the perfect marshmallow with his best friends at a family campout, your boy will LOVE being a Cub Scout. So if he's in the first through fifth grades, or 6 to 11 years old, then it's time for him to have some fun … with Cub Scouts Pack 98.
Please join us for the Pack 98 Orientation and Sign Up on Thursday September 20, 6:30 p.m at the St. Anthony's Church and School Cafeteria, located at 12th and Monroe Streets, NE.
Pack 98 is chartered by St. Anthony Catholic Church, and as a sister school of Sacred Heart in the Consortium of Catholic Academies, is pleased to extend this special invitation to all Sacred Heart boys and their families.
Pack 98 has a number of great events throughout the year, including the Pinewood Derby, Genius Kit Night, overnight camping trips, day hikes, and community service activities. Pack 98 parents are encouraged to be active, by serving as den leaders or assistants, helping with administrative functions, and attending camping trips and other weekend events. Pack 98 meets every Thursday night during the school year, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Scouts meet in dens that are grouped by grade. Pack 98 is a welcoming pack and does not discriminate against any potential scout, family, or leader, including based on sexual orientation. Anyone who is committed to the goals of scouting -- creating a space where boys can interact positively with other boys, teaching appreciation and respect for nature, and promoting other character values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and the importance of community service -- is encouraged to join.
