Cub Scout Pack 98 is for boys in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years of age. Boys who are older than 10, or who have completed the fifth grade, can no longer join Cub Scouting, but they may be eligible to join Troop 98 depending on their age and grade level.
Boy Scout Troop 98 is for boys age 11, or at least 10 and have completed the fifth grade, or have earned the Cub Scout Arrow of Light Award, and have not yet turned 18.
Can't make it this Thursday? No worries, you can sign up at any regular Pack 98 or Troop 98 meeting.

** About Pack 98 **
For over 50 years, the Pack 98 Cub Scouts in Washington, DC's Brookland neighborhood have been having the time of their lives making new friends and learning new things in an environment designed to help them succeed. From building his own pinewood derby car to learning how to roast the perfect marshmallow with his best friends at a family campout, your boy will LOVE being a Cub Scout. So if he's in the first through fifth grades, or 7 to 10 years old, then it's time for him to have some fun … with Cub Scouts Pack 98.
Scouts meet in dens that are grouped by grade, we currently have Tiger, Wolf, Bear, and Webelos Dens. We hold Den meetings weekly, and have Pack meetings with award ceremonies and more about every other month. We also have a number of special fun events that usually occur on the weekend, including Pinewood Derby, Genius Kit Night, overnight family camping trips in the fall and spring, day hikes, and community service activities, and much more.
Pack 98 is a welcoming pack and does not discriminate against any potential scout, family, or leader, including based on sexual orientation. Anyone who is committed to the goals of scouting -- creating a space where boys can interact positively with other boys, teaching appreciation and respect for nature, and promoting other character values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and the importance of community service -- is encouraged to join.
Pack 98 parents are encouraged to be active, by serving as den leaders or assistants, helping with administrative functions, and attending camping trips and other weekend events.
