Sacred Heart School will be participating in the Protecting Education through Healthy Vision program. The Essilor Vision Foundation, Prevent Blindness Mid-Atlantic (Conexus), and Vision Council have partnered to provide our most comprehensive vision program to date. This piloted effort will include elementary schools in Alexandria, VA and Washington DC.
In addition to providing PBMA’s full service comprehensive screening program, VisioCheck, this partnership will bring the Essilor Vision Foundation, Kids Vision for Life mobile vision clinic to the region for an entire week in October!
Through this project nearly 3,000 children will receive the PBMA VisioCheck program and of those referred from the screening the Essilor Vision Foundation mobile clinic will provide onsite same day free eye exams and glasses to qualifying students. This exciting program is expected to refer roughly 900 students for eye exams. Of those 900 its estimated that well over 200 will receive services that can be offered through the resources of the mobile clinic.
Please contact Ms. Heil is you are interested in referring your child for a vision exam or vision services.
